Coloring Peony Leaves

Sometimes a rainy day just calls for playing with colored pencils … and creating my very first, off-the-cuff video tutorial. I am working on “Peony Bees,” a new adult coloring page now available in the Ruby Charm Colors Etsy shop and the informal tutorial focuses on one way I approach coloring leaves using several different pencil brands (Prismacolor and Caran d’Ache Lunimance) and a Prismacolor blender pencil.

I printed the grey-line version of this design (found on page two of the downloadable, printable PDF) on a nice grey 65lb card stock made by Recollections and sold at Michaels craft stores.

You can use this technique on any type of leaf if you like the way it looks, and don’t be afraid to experiment with your own tools and techniques to get results that make you happy.  I hope do be working on Part 2 of this video in the coming days so be sure to subscribe to my YouTube channel and click on the little “notification bell” if you would like to be alerted when the next video is uploaded.

Happy coloring!
